'Just finished Wooing the Echo by Lee Morgan. Morgan's novel is both haunted and haunting, and has touched places in my soul, heart, and body that have been asleep for a time. The eldritch magic and poesis contained in its pages fits this autumnal season perfectly, and fills the self with a delicious melancholy. I eagerly look forward to devouring the next installment in this promising series.' ~ Matthew Ellenwood, Artistic Director of Terra Mysterium, private review

What I did enjoy though were all the magical workings in the story. There was old Celtic, shamanistic, sex magic, blood magic, necromancy, and hedge witchcraft (want to learn more? check out Walking The Hedge) The author did her homework and each type of magic performed gives one a sense of realism, although the results in the story are far from average. I also enjoyed the poetry used throughout the book, from the chapter introductions to the use of it to express character emotion, it was a nice addition. In magical work, as well, calls to dieties and spells are very poetic. Oh, and the sex scenes are spicy! This is the first book in a series. The story ending definitely left itself open for the two main characters, Christopher and Sophia, to grow - both emotionally and magically. It most definitely has promise. It's end of summer and this is a great book to finish off the season. I read it in the sun over the weekend and it was most enjoyable. ~ Lee A. "With so many derivative and poorly written supernatural stories out there, Lee Morgan's debut novel is as refreshing as summer rain. Those in the know will enjoy a tale about the initial twists of the real Crooked Path; the uninitiated will glimpse worlds and possibilities that mainstream religions have desperately tried to hide." ~ Gavin Andrew, author of 'Paganism & Christianity, A Resource for Wiccans, Witches and Pagans'.

"This book lays hauntingly vibrant foundations for a promisingly potent series. Morgan opens the reader to an Otherworld peopled with individuals who are endearingly complex and connected with a Fated unfolding that seems to sing of bleeding stars and bright shadows. I am utterly transfixed with Christopher Penrose and his world." ~ Gede Parma, author of Ecstatic Witchcraft
